We love the feeling of the sun rising over the horizon, the wind blowing through our faces and the bike gliding effortlessly over the asphalt beneath our feet. This passion for cycling drives us - but it's not just the sport that inspires us. It's the world that surrounds us, the nature we ride through, the fresh air that fills us. Protecting this world is just as important to us as the perfect ride.

Sustainability has always been a core principle at Heuer Radsport. Our wheels and components have always been developed with durability and efficiency in mind. But now it's time to take the next step. With our 10R strategy, we are taking on the challenge of creating a circular economy that not only improves the performance of our products, but also protects our shared environment.

Why we are embarking on this journey

We all know how intense cycling is. It's a constant race - against the clock, against the wind, against ourselves. But the real race is a global one: It's about how we can preserve our planet for future generations. As cyclists, we are not only athletes, but also part of this earth. The roads, the mountains, the forests - they give us so much. It's time to give something back.

The 10R strategy, is our way of doing this. It consists of ten principles that help us to reduce waste, conserve resources and design our products and processes to be in harmony with nature. These principles are not abstract ideas, but concrete instructions for the way we work at Heuer Radsport - today and in the future.

10R in detail

Each “R” stands for a step towards a more sustainable world:

  1. Refuse - Less is more: We consciously avoid unnecessary materials.
  2. Rethink - We are rethinking how our products can become more efficient and sustainable.
  3. Reduce - Less material, more performance - we minimize the use of raw materials.
  4. Reuse - Why buy new when repairing is just as good? Many parts can be given a second life.
  5. Repair - Repairing instead of throwing away. Our components are designed so that they can be easily repaired.
  6. Refurbish - Refurbish old components and make them fit for new adventures.
  7. Remanufacture - Creating something new from the old: We recycle to make new products again.
  8. Repurpose - Rethink components, give them new functions to avoid waste.
  9. Recycle - Recycling is our partner: Materials that can be reused are returned to the cycle.
  10. Recover - Everything that we can no longer use is used to generate energy.
