Rear track wheel hub T80
The T80 track bike rear wheel hub is a highly specialized component for ambitious cyclists on the track. It is characterized by its innovative design and exceptional rigidity.
Technical characteristics and performance:
- Flange height: 80 mm
- Material: high-strength aluminum
- Standard axle: M10x1, hardened and nitrided for increased strength
- Weight: 338 g
- Number of holes: Standard 24 holes (usually available from stock)
- Bearing clearance: Individually adjustable
Innovative hub flange design:
A key feature of the T80 are the “hollow” turned and inwardly sloping hub flanges, which are precisely matched to the spoke angle. With double-crossed spoking, the outer spokes lie exactly on the flange. This construction prevents the spokes from being bent over the flange, which reduces the bending stress on the spoke heads. This significantly minimizes the “setting” of the spokes and the spoke tension remains more constant. With normal use, there is no need for frequent re-centering, which ensures the long-term reliability and performance of the wheel.
Thread variants:
For historical reasons, there are different threads for track bike hubs:
- DIN, ISO and BSA threads have a flank angle of 60°.
- ITA thread has a flank angle of 55°
The following thread variants are available from HEUER:
- BSA 1.37″x24TPI
- ITA M35x24TPI
- ISO 1.375” x 24 TPI (on request)
Please note:
- Shimano uses BSA
- Campagnolo uses ITA
- Incorrect sprocket threads can lead to damage to the threads. Ensure that the threads are correctly matched (manufacturer).
Special features:
- The rear wheel hub for the track is made without a lockring.
- Other hole patterns are available by agreement.
