Former "International kids tour in Berlin" is now the "Tour de Berlin - International Youngsters Race

The International Kids Tour started in Berlin in 1993.

Founder Jens-Holger Mey wanted to set an example for international understanding with the sporting competition between children from many nations. The tour quickly became a magnet for young athletes from all over Germany and many European countries. The media soon dubbed it the "Tour de France for children".

Another junior tour in Berlin was the Tour de Berlin, which has been held since 2001 as the successor to the Berlin Four-Stage Tour. World ranking points were awarded in the U23 category at this tour.

With the Karl-Marx-Allee, the streets at the Olympiastadion and Tempelhof Airport, the Tour de Berlin - International Youngsters Race is relying on attractive venues. The new name "Tour de Berlin - International Youngsters Race" combines the traditions of the kids tour and the U23 stage race.

2022 should be the start of further sustainable development of the tour for young athletes.

We are proud to be part of the Tour de Berlin! Allez - Allez!

Heuer Radsport actively supports the promotion of young cycling talent.

Equality is a key goal for us when it comes to working with and promoting young talent. We are actively campaigning for the female and male classes to be judged separately and for the winners' bonuses in the female and male classes to be equal. The bonuses should then be adjusted to the number of starters, as recommended by the Cycling Youth.

We are convinced that the prize money should not be assessed or calculated solely on the basis of the number of starters in the respective classes.
