All the athletes, supporters and organizers were waiting in the starting blocks at Tempelhof Airport for the International Youngsters Race of the Tour de Berlin from 19-21 August. After the International Kids Tour had to be canceled twice in recent years, the organizing Berlin Cycling Association planned a new edition with a new concept for athletes in the U13/U15 and U17 classes. Above all, the aim was to bring cycling in the heart of the city to the hearts of cycling kids from all over the world. The result was three attractive days of racing at three high-profile locations. The stages started on the airfield of Tempelhof Airport, on the streets around the Berlin Olympic Stadium and on Karl-Marx-Allee right next to Alexanderplatz and the Berlin TV Tower. With the company HEUER Cycling Berlin's cycling sport had an experienced partner at its side for the Tour, who also makes these top race routes possible for young cyclists. And for the new edition of the Tour de Berlin, the teams did not have to pay any entry fees.

Before the former airport became a rock concert arena again at the weekend, the U13 and U15 cyclists rocked the former runways of the legendary Tempelhof Airport on the first stage of the Tour de Berlin - International Youngsters Race.

The program kicked off with a team time trial and a circuit race. Peter also proved to be a cycling fan and left the water in the threatening clouds. Right at the start, the Berlin LV U13 team won the team time trial. Piet Würzner from LV Hamburg had the fastest legs in the circuit race. Julius Thomas from Eintracht Frankfurt won the older age group.
