Heuer Cup - The racing series on the road continues!
We are at the start! You too?
„Wir werden den Heuer-Cup in der kommenden Saison verbessern und ausbauen. Für Sportler, Ausrichter und Zuschauer werden wir die Race series attraktiver gestalten,“ mit diesen Worten blickt Marc Benkert, der sportliche Leiter, zusammen mit uns zuversichtlich auf die Fortführung des HEUER-Cup im Jahr 2019.
In the first year, nine clubs organized the event under the patronage of Heuer Präzisionsteile GmbH together with the Württemberg Cycling Association e.V. and the Badischer Radsportverband e.V. the HEUER Cup in various stages and racing classes. The HEUER Cup was supported by the following sponsors:
- Dewald steel trade
- Heuer precision parts
- KaHa - Plast
- Schmidt & Fuchs
- Götten Apartments
- and other partners
This year we are delighted to welcome Wolfpack-Tires as a new sponsor and supporter.
In 2018, the elite ABC, senior and junior classes competed in seven stages, while the women's class and the C class of the "1000km of Baden-Württemberg" contested eight stages. For 2019, we are planning more venues, longer race routes and new challenging courses as well as a separately scored crit challenge to further increase the attractiveness of the race series for athletes and organizers.
All the popular classic races from last year will be back in the HEUER Cup in 2019. On Easter Monday, the "Rund um Schönaich" race is on the program. The race covers around 140 meters in altitude on a nine-kilometre circuit past Breitenstein and Neuweiler. The start and finish line of the race are in Wettgasse, which is located in the center of Schönaich. In Ellmendingen, the traditional "Rund um Keltern" race awaits the athletes, with the start and finish line at the beautiful, rustic Winzerhalle. The Constance City Cycle Race on the Laube with its fast criterium has also become an integral part of the event calendar. In addition, the two-kilometre race course in Plattenhard is once again one of the highlights of the HEUER Cup. A steep climb before the start and finish line leads to a fast descent where the athletes reach speeds of over 65 km/h. This course not only demands stamina and fitness, but also the athletes' riding skills. On Whit Sunday, the Schwenningen cycling club once again invites you to the "Volvo Grand Prix": the cycling race with a six-and-a-half kilometer circuit that is known beyond the borders of the country. The flat circuit on the wide streets of Reute in Breisgau, which has been particularly popular with the senior class, promises fast, tactical races.
The feedback from athletes, organizers and associations has motivated us to organize a criterium series this year. The HEUER Criterium Challenge will open with the evening criterium in Deisslingen. This year we are looking forward to new challenges in Geisingen, Mönchweiler and Freiburg-Ebringen.
This year's Baden-Württemberg State Championships on the road in Münsingen will be judged within the HEUER Cup. Biberach, as the host of the 2018 German junior championships, will host its challenging circuit race within the HEUER Cup this year. In Ilsfeld, the venue for the German Cycling League, two races will be offered for amateurs and elite amateurs.
All in all, the calendar of events promises an exciting season.
Our motivation:
We want to give more space to cycling on the road.
That's why we support the racing series on the road!
We are happy to promote the sport that we ourselves love. We at Heuer Radsport are also enthusiastic racing cyclists ourselves. As a company, we are very lucky to be able to turn our hobby into a profession and are proud of the cycling products we manufacture.
But sport is not just about having the right equipment. We care a lot about the concept and structure behind cycling:
- In the club culture and the community
- in the development of young talent in popular and competitive sport
- sport, which promotes the social skills of young people
- in competitive sport, which produces goal-oriented and capable people
We are working hard not only on financial support, but also on a diverse media presence that makes cycling more attractive to spectators, makes people want to take part and attracts new fans to a great sport
Our aim is to create a network in which both amateurs and professional cyclists can come together and organize interesting events. We are proud to be the main sponsor of the HEUER Cup and hope that this great tradition of road racing will continue in the years to come. We have big plans for 2019. We want to further expand the Cup. We will once again be organizing a criterium series within the HEUER Cup.
We look forward to exciting competitions in all classes as part of the HEUER Cup. We wish everyone in the HEUER Cup every success and fair racing!
