Which wheel

Multi-day tour
I ride the track test with the gravel bike 40 tires, low air pressure (2.5 front 2.7 rear) The gears are mechanical 1 x 11.
I put a support on the handlebars to rest when riding for longer periods. It's also good for my backside to adopt a different position. It also takes the strain off my hands. I often have numb fingers (always the little ones) so I can use it to relieve the strain and it's much better.

Hands or fingers that fall asleep are often caused by the wrong position on the bike. So don't overreach and gloves with gel inserts can help.

In one piece or with more speed
When riding in one piece, I ride my road bike with 2 x 12. 60-profile wheels at the rear and 50-profile wheels at the front. 26 tire front 28 tire rear (aero). I will probably ride with TPU tubes or tubeless.
With a support and only top tube and down tube bag. The lamp is then mounted on the bracket. But I will test the setup and then let you know here.

Hi Rene, I'm still undecided whether to go for a road bike or a gravel bike.

Can you please write after your test ride how the road conditions are. According to your Komoot route (https://www.komoot.de/tour/1085629269) there are only 6km of loose ground. Nothing over that distance. So, as you write, that would speak in favor of the road bike.

Hi Benni,

Yes, of course I'll report on the route here.
There are also a few pictures

Hello everyone,

We have now ridden the route. So our route is rideable on a road bike.
All asphalt no gravel path (a few short 100m sections of gravel)

There are cobblestones, rough roads and roadworks. But that's probably always the case on the tours. I would recommend 28/30 tires. 5 bar and then it's totally relaxed. We had no flat tires.

Have ridden with road bike 28er tires with tube and gravel (tubeless) 40er.

Hi Rene,

Thanks for the answer!
I will then also start with the racing bike. The service is already done, only one or two things are missing and then I'm off 🙂
